Richard is a ten-year old with Aspergers Syndrome and high levels of generalised and socially related anxieties. He was referred due to his difficulties at school. He has been having weekly individual music therapy for 10 months and has recently started a new school, which is going well.
“When Richard first came to MusicSpace he was very interested in the instruments but reluctant to get involved in the music making. He is now able to come straight in and become instantly engaged in the process of making music.”
Richard himself says how each week he likes to make different sounds, and he likes to sing about different emotions, about feeling sad and feeling happy.
