Our Philosophy

We believe that music is intrinsic to human fulfilment and well-being and that any one of us, regardless of disability or illness, can respond to music. Hence the provision of music therapy is at the very heart of our work. We also believe that therapy cannot exist in isolation and needs to be supported and enriched by rigorous research. Training musicians to become the music therapy practitioners of the future is an important part of our work as is enabling others to feel more confident with music for their own work in various health and care contexts.
