Physical Disability

For people with a physical disability music therapy can provide a space where they can participate in music even when other areas of their life are more challenging. Music therapy gives a person the opportunity to interact with others and develop confidence and self-esteem.

Our music therapists will work with a person and focus on what they feel able to do and want to do in a session. This gives them the space and opportunity to express themselves through music making.

Music therapy can also create a calming environment where people are able to relax. For some people music therapy can help encourage movement and strengthen coordination. It can also help develop communication skills and reinforce areas of speech and language.
