Dementia and Alzheimer’s

Music therapy can help in many situations particularly where communication is difficult due to illness, injury or disability. For people living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s, music can be used effectively to communicate and engage with others even if they no longer speak or respond to other people’s words.

Music therapy helps to alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia by helping to unlock special memories, reconnect with their loved ones and express emotions and feelings that other forms of communication cannot.

Our trained therapists work with people in an individual or group setting, using music to interact and communicate. Music can have many benefits both for people living with dementia and their carers. Listening to and enjoying music is a universal experience that lasts into our old age.
